Q: Our 1/2 gallon of 2% is thick and has the consistency of yogurt. Is there something we need to do with it before consuming? Or did we get a bad batch?
A: Hello and thank you for your question. The milk is low temp pasteurized and also non homogenized. The non homogenization will allow the cream that is in the 2% to separate and rise to the top. Once you poke a hole in the cream and pour some of the milk out to create a little room, should be able to shake it up and the cream mix back up so it doesn’t come out in a blob and is a smoother normal milk consistency. So the thick yogurt like liquid that you first poured out is pure cream. Still edible and amazing in some coffee. The milk generally will last 2 weeks past the sale by date depending on several factors. Hope this helps, please reach out if you have any other questions.

Q: What and how are your cows feed? Organic?
A: Hello and thank you for your question. Our cows are on grass pastures and have access to grass or hay year round. We do feed them as well in addition to the grass they eat. We feed soybean hulls, which is a byproduct from the vegetable oil process. Basically they are the outside shells of soybean seeds once they have been crushed to get oil from them. We are not certified organic and neither is the pasture, hay or feed that we provide to our cattle. We do try to follow organic practices as closely as we can, but we do not have the certification or seal of organic. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask!
